Cuba

Cuba paints in a palette no one else has permission to use — coral, mint, cigar-brown, chipped gold — and it does it while dancing. I spent a month between Havana and Trinidad drawing from balconies, and the whole island felt like a record spinning at a slightly slower speed than the rest of the world.
